Victor Sommo, Executive Chef

The food that Victor’s Mother and Grandmother prepared for family suppers inspired him to become a Chef. Victor earned his A.A.S. in Culinary Arts Management from the State University of New York. He is a competition judge of the American Culinary Federation, and has won multiple awards for his own cooking. Victor was a member of the 2004 NYC Culinary Olympic Team.

After earning his degree Victor worked and studied under some of the best chefs in New York and Baltimore. During this time Victor immersed himself in the art of cooking and the diversity of cuisine in America. Eventually Victor developed his own style of cooking based on solid culinary classical and contemporary technique to create straight forward, exciting flavors.

Ashleigh Germond, VOLO Chef de Cuisine

Ashleigh has known that cooking was her passion since she was a child. Her culinary development all began with spending time in the kitchen with her mother, and she enjoyed watching cooking shows rather than cartoons. “My philosophy on food is that simplicity is the key to elegance. Keeping flavors simple and uncomplicated really lets the ingredient speak for itself. I like to capture what great, particularly local, products already have to offer and enhance them.” Ashleigh’s goal for VOLO Restaurant is to provide their diners something new and exciting. “I want our customers to leave VOLO loving life, and anticipating their next visit!”
